New website in the works
February 24th, 2012
Over the next sever weeks the site will be launched into a new platform. I’m going to be creating a new site and streamlining much of the content that has been both on the website and the blog. More or less I will be creating a glorified portfolio page about my work, capabilities etc. More to come in the very near future.

Site comps
June 10th, 2011
I know its been a little while since I posted anything, the wife and I just bought a house so all our efforts and time has been going into that. Never-the-less I had some down time at work and started thinking about my site design. I’m in the process of developing my wife’s site, that she designed (link to come), so I have had personal portfolio sites on the brain. Anyway, I started playing around with some stuff and exploring style options and I came up with this little badge that has started to grow on me. I’m not sure if it will make it to the file design at all but I thought i’d share it and post some progress at the same time.

Legacy of letters
December 18th, 2010
Its so sad that the skill of hand drawn typography is completely underrated. With the amount of typefaces that are available to us on our computers, some times its nice to site back and appreciate the people that really respect the fine craft of type. Enjoy!

Creative Process
June 25th, 2010
I love the creative process and I have the utmost respect for people who create in general. Being a creative is not the easiest thing in the world. In fact its really damn hard. But that’s why I love it. I know that I will never be “good enough” but there these moments in life where you do great work and you do something that almost feels outer body in a sense. In the moment you realize that you are doing it. You’ve spent long hours staring at your computer, easel or whatever medium of choice it may be. And in the moment you are so focused on the end result that it doesn’t matter that you are wearing the same clothes since last Tuesday, because you are in a frame of mind where you are almost watching yourself from the outside.
Many times you never see this until after the fact. Once the piece, project, or whatever it is then you take a step back, literally and you realize, that you’ve created something great. I love and relish that feeling so much in my own work and I love seeing things that inspire me to feel that way again. Below is a really wonderful video that evokes almost all of these feelings and emotions. Its brilliantly shot and It’s a wonderfully inspiring video to watch. Enjoy.

Funny Yet So True
February 24th, 2010
This list came from Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote the book Eat, Pray, Love. Her outlook on creatives and genius in general, I think is really interesting. It also makes you wonder why we creatives do what do when its so heavily scrutinized by our worst critics. Ourselves. You can see her presentation on TED.
